Leapset is looking for a Technical Product Manager to join its growing startup. This individual will help define feature requirements and work closely with Engineering, User Design, and QA to help build a company focused on revolutionizing how small businesses operate. The successful candidate will display an exceptional attention to detail, the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs, priorities, and timelines, and a demonstrated track record of completing quality projects on time. Past experience working in the online financial services industry is a plus.
As part of a small team, you'll need to wear many hats, so flexibility and a can-do attitude are essential. You should be a creative thinker who can combine imagination, past experience, and traditional analytics to support your ideas and vision. The candidate will also know how to put those ideas into action quickly by driving the product development process.
Leapset is a funded startup currently in stealth mode. Leapset is building a platform that will empower local merchants to leverage the power of the Internet to generate leads and grow their businesses. Leapset will bridge the gap between online and offline commerce with a single merchant-focused platform that supports multiple consumer Internet applications. Analyze user requirements, procedures and problems to automate and improve systems and design and develop new systems. Work with product consumers, project managers, engineers and QA teams to identify and define product strategies and features for Leapset's cloud based systems as well as core POS functionalities. Specify inputs the system will access and format output to meet user needs using structural analysis, data modeling, information engineering and mathematical modeling. Project manage the development of product features to ensure on-time delivery using Trac. Identify deficiencies in existing processes/technologies in use and recommend fixes using Agile development (Scrum), Trac, and SVN. Assist engineers with technology direction and make recommendations regarding selection of appropriate technologies for product implementation. Provide engineers with technology direction regarding implementation of financial management application systems and software for related Point of Sale ("POS") devices. Assist UI and QA teams to ensure that customer-facing products are supported by major browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, and Chrome).
Master of Science in Computer Science or foreign equivalent and two years of experience working with clients/product consumers, project managers, engineers and QA teams to identify and define product strategies and features for web application systems. Eighteen months of experience in project management consulting in technology projects. One year of experience working with clients/product consumers, gathering requirements, identifying/defining product strategies and creating detailed product descriptions. One year of experience managing projects related to the development of product features to ensure on-time delivery of features using Bugzilla, Trac, Microsoft Project, or Basecamp project management tools. One year of experience working with engineering teams using waterfall development model. One year of experience working with engineering teams following Agile development processes (scrum). Eighteen months of coding experience in C++ and/or Java and MySQL in Linux or Unix environment, including six months related to financial management software and related POS devices (POS). One year of experience assisting UI and QA teams to ensure that customer-facing products are supported by major browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, and Chrome).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or foreign equivalent and five years of post-bachelor's degree, progressively responsible experience working with clients/product consumers, project managers, engineers and QA teams to identify and define product strategies and features for web application systems. Three years of experience in project management consulting in technology projects. Two years of experience working with clients/product consumers, gathering requirements, identifying/defining product strategies and creating detailed product descriptions. Two years of experience managing projects related to the development of product features to ensure on-time delivery of features using Bugzilla, Trac, Microsoft Project, or Basecamp project management tools. Two years of experience working with engineering teams using waterfall development model. Two years of experience working with engineering teams following Agile development processes (scrum). Three years of coding experience in C++ and/or Java and MySQL in Linux or Unix environment, including one year related to financial management software and related POS devices.
